Campo Road/94 Task Force
Dear Community Members:

A Campo Road/Hwy 94 Task Force has been formed to look into possible "safe" road improvements for our students who both drive and walk along Campo Road/Hwy 94. The current committee is comprised of two community members and two Steele Canyon Governing Board members. Since Monday, May 5, 2008, we have accomplished the following:

Dear Faculty, Staff, Governing Board Members, and Community Supporters of Steele Canyon High School, A California Charter School:

It is with great sadness and heartfelt sympathy that I announce the death of a current Steele Canyon student, an 11th grader at our school, who was hit by a car on Friday evening as she was walking west on Campo Road. Our student passed away that same Friday evening. (At the time of this writing, the student’s name has not, as yet, been officially released by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office to the general public.) Needless to say, this was an unfortunate and untimely accident.
California High School Exit Exam
May 6-7, 2008. This administration is for all Grade 10 students who did not take the CAHSEE in March, and all Grade 11 and 12 students who have not yet passed this exam.

Request to the School Community
We are asking all segments of the school community to donate water and pet food, which can be used by our evacuees for their animals.
No School Monday 10-22-2007
The Harris fire is affecting several of our communities: Potrero, Dulzura and Barrett Junction. It is reported still out of control and Steele Canyon has opened up its campus to the Red Cross as an evacuation site. As a result there will be no school for students tomorrow - Monday - October 22.
We will assess the situation on Monday and determine when the school will re-open.
